Rash

There are many different types of rashes that can be caused by many different things. Rashes can be associated with symptoms of itch, pain, tenderness, or be asymptomatic. Dermatitis refers to an unspecified rash or inflammatory skin condition with associated changes on the skin. Dermatitis can be short term or chronic. Rashes can appear on any part of the body, and the treatment for a rash will vary based on the type of rash. Rashes can present as red, raised patches, red bumps, thickened plaques, hypopigmented patches, and many other ways. To determine a definite diagnosis, your dermatologist might choose to do a skin biopsy to confirm a diagnosis and prescribe the proper treatment plan. When seeing your dermatologist for a rash, it is important to disclose all important details to ensure your dermatologist can make the correct diagnosis.
