A dermatologist is a medical doctor, who has undergone extensive training to specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin, hair, nails and mucous membranes. A typical dermatologist has earned at least a Bachelor’s degree, four years of medical school training to earn an MD or equivalent degree, one year of internship, three years of specialty training in dermatology, followed by board certification exam to become board-certified dermatologists.  Dermatologists are trained to diagnose and treat a variety of skin conditions including skin infections, cancers, rashes, acne, moles, warts, discoloration, herpes, psoriasis, rosacea, vitiligo, as well as hair and nail problems. Dermatologists are also trained to do skin biopsies and surgeries for both harmless and cancerous growths.

Your insurance will clarify for you what services and procedures are covered. Cosmetic procedures are not covered and are payable at time of service. ​We offer excellent cash pay options for our uninsured patients as well as flat fee pathology services

• Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time to allow ample time to complete new patient paperwork om iPad, enter your medical/surgical history and medications, review our office, financial and privacy policies, and consent to treatment.

• A list of 2-3 complaints for each visit. Please note that additional concerns may require additional visits.

• A list of all prescription and over-the-counter topical, oral or systemic medications, as well as herbals, vitamins and hormonal treatments, 

It is totally fine to shower and moisturize your skin on the day of your appointment. Avoid tinted sunscreens and make up as they can camouflage any precancerous or cancerous growths.  Remove nail polish and avoid hair styling products like hair sprays so we can perform a thorough exam of your scalp and nails.  Please let your dermatologist know if you have noticed any growths, lines, warts or depressions on your nails. If you allow us, we would like to examine your private areas as well.  Skin cancers also occur where the sun does not shine so it is important to have all of your skin examined. If you wish to decline examination of private areas, we will respect your wishes. 

Treatment costs can vary, depending upon the diagnosis and treatment option chosen. We try our best to offer the most economical options For insured patients, we are happy to provide contracted rates for most common visits and procedures. Exact benefits are obtained only after claim submission. We will do our best to be transparent about any additional costs associated with your visit before performing these procedures. Please feel free to ask if you have require clarification of your insurance charges. 

For our cash pay patients, we offer very affordable options.
